China makes a lot of steel these days

And we need a lot of it. And they make it cheap because they don't have the pollution controls that we do (such as ours are). I'm not sure if someone is keeping an eye on the balance of manufacturing and second source suppliers. But that's an industry I hear about not-infrequently in this context.
