I don't understand your point either

So the only people who protest the war are middle class citizens of European descent and those who fight are either poor or minorities? That is what you said. I just finished lunch with friends who have served or are currently serving our country. One woman is a graduate of the Air Force Academy, one man is former Army with combat experience in Vietnam, another in the process of retiring from the National Guard and also has combat experience in Desert Storm, the other woman is currently serving in the Guard. I didn't ask them their pedigrees or financial status but to the best of my knowledge none are poor or minorities. My other friend is definitely not a minority and went to active duty and may lose a promotion b/c she so much wants to fight for her country and be deployed ASAP. I applaud the actions of all those who serve this country regardless of their gender, financial status or ethnicity. I find the attempt to categorize them by these demeaning to their service and dedication.
I choose not to hold onto the anger for wrongs done to my ancestors. I want to be known for the person I am, not the percentage of each ethnicity. I want that for my family also. And yes I have personally faced racism when my children were called "abominations in the sight of God." I told this person that I think God sees my children as beautiful. I know I do.
