Temporary Archive: Suzanne Brockmann's Message Board

Most of the stupid stuff I hear is from people who have no idea that my dh, kids and I (not sure the exact % so I won't include myself) are minorities. They seem to think I'll agree with their statements. I like to see the looks on their faces when I tell them. OK I admit I'm not nice when it comes to this. The woman who said that was talking about children of another couple (woman white.man black). She said mixed race children were an abomination in the sight of God. She compared it to squirrels mating with another animal. (need I say more?) When I pointed to my kids and told her mine were mixed race too and beautiful in the sight of God. Well, she was speechless and I left before I said anything unChristian.
On the flip side my dh interviewed with a major national corp and was told they didn't have any openings. A few hours later they called and asked why he didn't tell them he was a minority and told him he could start the next week. I was thrilled that he turned down the offer. Noone has ever guessed my dh's ethnicity by looking at him. He is Chinese/Italian and all American. His brother looks much more Asian. I just think of us all as Americans. Stepping away slowly from my soapbox too. :-)
