The Command Master Chief

is a position in the commmand, Usually occupied by the senior Master Chief, but not always. You have to be board screened to qualify for the position. The CMC is the Commanding Officer's primary resource for issue regarding the ENlisted folks. (The XO is for the Officers)Large Commands ma have several Master Chiefs, but the CMC has positional authority over them.
