I was in EOD for the Gulf War—we had been doing some forward thinking stuff when Saddam rolled over Kuwait. All of the sudden we became the premier chemical warfare and booby-trap detachment in the military—so we spent months practicing disarming booby trapped oil rigs, detoxing chemical munitions and be-mining grossly polluted harbors—unfortunately the rigs got blown before we were sent in
