I do think if the media covered car accidents like they do terror attacks. ie

However, you need to know that the Fourth of July is the deadliest holiday weekend ever. It is likely that over 520 Americans across the US will die in automobile accidents this Fourth of July.
(If they showed pictures of those accidents ) That makes 3 million deaths from auto accidents since the inception of the car."
if the media gave us those statistics all the time and had analysts tell us how dangerous it was I think most Americans would be afraid of driving.
