just couldn't get people to leave---I was one of them--the thought of being outside the comfyconfines just too unbearable---

any way-their is a well documented phenomenom called Stockholme syndrome where people begin to empathize with their captures--this happens very quickly and was a major problem for the Navy SEAL Red Cell that used to test base security---prisoners became ahh, umm--amorous---but, I digress---in the case of a POW there are so many things going on it is difficult to draw a linear diagnoses but, if you depended on someone for every physical comfort, substinance and that same person inflicted pain--so you are force to rely on your torturer, and you have seen people killed for minor transgressions against that torturer---and you've been in the situation for four years---I am thinking that any ability to rationaize or make clear decisions is reserved for only the most stalwart of mentalities--and those guys had no SERE training to boot!
