repetitive rhythm shooting

Changing the emphasis of the line of inquiry here.

I know that most real world scenarios aren't a steady pattern like that 1..2..3..4.. It's much more chaotic.

But could you use that to set up an opponent into poking his head up at just the wrong moment? In fencing we're taught to set up a pattern and then break it. People's minds will automatically look for patterns in rhythm, so if you do something twice or three times in a row, they will (unless they are trained not to, and in control of their reactions) automatically get into rhythm with you.

So, if instead of doing 1..2..3..4.. you do 1..2..34, there is a chance that they are going to pop up on 4 just when you need them to.

Does that make sense? Or does the discipline not translate over between fencing and shooting?
