At least on my part, I wasn't trying to make a generalization. There are illegals, who truly want to become citizens, who take the class, who learn the language and no they should not have to "earn it" by serving in the military. Whatever they suffered prior to coming here, whatever they are escaping from hoping for a better life is enough. Those people want to find a place to live; be free; make a better life for themselves and contribute to their country-give back in some way.

However, for those who think they can just come here and give nothing to this country in return, who refuse to learn to speak the language, and expect America to take care of them, then yes, they do need to "earn it". Freedom doesn't come free. I don't know that drafting them for years of military service is the best plan, but it could be an possible option. As I said, don't know how viable that is, or how loyal they would be or if they would be the people we want protecting and defending this county.

Again my apologies if I have offended...never my intention. I'll be more careful when expressing my thoughts and opinions in the future.
