Abusers abuse BECAUSE THEY CAN!!!!! What is stopping them? The laws/system/courts are usually protecting their rights.....the abuse works....it gets them what they want! AND THAT IS POWER AND CONTROL....
Seems to me that is what a terrorist is after also.....not that I agree or disagree with Rose's analogy...but reading both posts together this is what I am getting out of it....
Also, if mental illness' were involved....the abuser would be abusing everyone.....does he do it at work??? NO! does he do it to strangers? NO! Does he do it to friends? NO He does it to his intimate family....it is CONTROLLED.... he knows exactly what he is doing and when he can do it and why he is doing it....
And can you tell this was like waving a red flag in front of the proverbial bull? hahahahah, I just get really cranked up!
I work in both the mental health field and the domestic violence field.....totally seperate issues.....
the same as someone blaming the abuse on alcochol..."oh, I was drinking...I didn't know what I was doing"...uummmhhhh.... knows exactly what he is doing and uses the alcohol as an excuse.....over and over again....
