Thanks for your answer. I still find it hard to believe he was lying, if you had met him you would understand why. But I admit to no real knowledge of the military so I appreciate your answers a lot.
I have no doubt in my mind that the VA is a nightmare to get services out of. Part of my job was to help people like you who were out,(but usually in need of my help) to access the systems. Get paperwork done advocate for them to get services and cut through the red tape. The only people worse, yes and they are worse, is social security disability yuck .The only way to get the Va to do anything is to call them all the time and never give up until you get your needs met. The whole squeaky wheel.(But you have to attach the phone to your ear and open up a good book while you wait for a real human to answer) They will put you off othewise, until you are too sick to ask for help or you have a crisis that puts you in the hospital. You could talk to a VA advocate and see if you can move on down the line. Rose
