In general I really enjoyed South America. It was a lot looser than the US--not so many ules, laws regulations etc. Plus, the people seemed to have the right priorities. Work and material things were not all consuming.
Favorite City-- Bogata, COlumbia--a reall melting pot with a lot of culture and first generation immigrant business--plus a good night club district.
Favorite Town- RIberalta Bolivia--Spent six weeks there had a great time. Good people, friendly and hard working.Really great meal at a place called Don Toba's. Steak with egg and hot peppers...hmmm
Of course, I had a ball in Afghanistan so that has a sweet spot for me.
Philipines were a lot of fun--but can't say I actually saw much. Thumbs up to Australia too. Really good beer.
Spent six months in Scotland and really liked three of them--the three that didn't hae the horizontal rain--good whiskey (hmm, theme developing food, beer and whiskey).
If you get to the Mediteranian, I think a stop at Palma Mahorca is a must (Daiqueris). I actually like Bahrain, particularly when hooked up with tthe Brits--they just don't really care about local sensitivities!
Anyway, I guess the is about the list---it was mostly being out and about that I liked--not so much specific spots---though you can keep Korea and Japan.
