You are right that often people think that if you stay at home, it's b/c you are too stupid to work. I was at a party with several co-workers of my husband. One woman asked me what I did and I told her I was a full time Mom. She looked at me, turned around and walked off without another word. Said much more about her than me. For the record, I love most of his coworkers and they treat me wonderfully, especially the military/former military.
