I've heard that one of the reason that a lot of SEAL officers cash out is that they don't want to fly a desk. They get 'promoted out of the field' which is where they want to be.
If promotions are occurring more rapidly in the SEALs these days, does that mean that the men are going to have shorter operational lives than their predecessors? Or if they stay in, is the organization going to become top heavy (unless they commission more TEAMS so they can spread it around a bit).
