I disagree with his hypthesie due to my knowledge of
1-study of the African American experience the "Middle Passage" and historical signifance the "Greening of the AA slaves".
2- study of the ethnography of a dominant culture and a non-dominant culture's compromise in order to maintain their culture.Specifically Judaism in the early 19th cent in the US South and modern Arab world.
4-My personal knowledge of women in the scientific and medical professions and the compromises they have had to make.
5- What body of resarch does he base his hypothesis. Are his finding dulpicated by others in his field. If yes tell show me, it NO why not?
5-I did not call him names. I said it his HYPOTHESIS was arrogant. And I stand by that.
6- He is the one that responded with his opinion about a specific question: the Katrina survivors and applied his hypothesis as to why some people "give up".
I am not challenging the man, his character or choice of breakfast cereal, but his hypothesis.
Like you said he's not here and but I'll have to wait till Tuesday hopefully to get a response and clarification. I won't have internet access after today untill then. Sorry
