Really wonderful story Tom. Understand why that's up there as something you're most proud of, must be a wonderful feeling to be able to do that for someone, especially a child.

Thought the writer did a good job with it too. Loved the image of the "hero party" -- picture you with a red cape and an "S" on your chest digging into a bowl of ice cream. :)

Pretty funny joke -- good thinking on your tipsy feet. Is the reaction you got typical in military-type gatherings like that -- everyone waits to see what the highest-ranking guy does before they decide how to react?
