and believe it or not, I think you'd see a major surge in enlistment if status as an American citizen were guaranteed. Alot of the men work their a**es off and send almost everything they make back home to support their family. Most would fully embrace the opportunity for three square meals a day, a huge paycheck (by their standards) and a roof over their head in exchange for training, and the chance to defend not necessarily the U.S. but the concept of freedom. And in the end they are granted citizenship? Win-win IMO.
