Tom, I'm not sure I understand

I think you're saying that warriors must follow orders without deviation in order to be an effective fighting force, and that that force must be willing to fight when called upon, regardless of what they think of the war they're engaged in, because sometimes those wars are absolutely right and necessary. You also seem to be saying that you and your fellow SEALs were eager to use your skills and training in combat, and that you believed you could do it more precisely and with less wasting of human and other resources, on either side. That made it important for you to be there especially when the overall mission was not a good (well chosen ?) one. Is that it ?
