That's so cool that you got to dive with your Dad. My brother got certified when he was 13. He's 3 years older than me and I remember him holding the tank for me in the pool and letting me breath out of the regulator and swim around in circles, I'll never forget how amazing it was the first time. We both wanted to be Jacques Cousteau when we grew up. I didn't get certified until I was 19 and like most new divers, dove a lot when I was first certified (my best friend got certified at the same time) and went on camping/dive trips together, but less and less over the years. We live in a great spot to dive, there are 3 reefs right off our beach, but all we ever do is snorkel now. I'm looking forward to getting back into it with my older son and the younger one too in a few years. My dh has been certified since high school and has many more dives than me in his log book.
That's funny about your dh (not using his name since you didn't here), I'll bet he really was surprised. You really are in a great place to dive, tell me about your dives some night in the chat room.
