I was injured every jump!--just teasing--combat equipment jumps--particularly static line are usually a fairly brutal affair--the round parachutes don't steer well and it is hard to flair them to slow down. I broke a bone in my foot once and face planted on a night combat equipment jump that made me less than hadnsome for a few days. The "emergency chute is called the Reserve--I only had to use it once. Of course it was a night Oxygen combat equipment jump--all is well that ends well. You have to make four jumps a year to draw jump pay--so yes I did.

Generally explosions overhead are more dangerous at most vehicles don't have a lot of overhead armor. Most antipersonnel artillery shells are designed to airburst to get maximum dispersal of shrapnel and take advantage of the difficulty of finding overhead cover for troops in the open. 155 is the circumfrance of the shell
