After filling out paperwork online then getting letters over a six month period that say "We are working on your application", "We are denying your claim", "We haven't forgotten you and are still working on your claim", all without that first evaluation appointment, my husband contacted a Veterans Claim Representative. She works in the Veterans Services Division of the local Dept of Veterans Affairs office. She was able to walk paperwork to the proper desk/floor and get the necessary evaluation rolling very quickly. Oh and by the way – don’t ever shred/lose your DD214. You’ll need it forever plus an extra day. *grin*
