medical record---I've been pretty lucky. Broke some bones in my foot on a night jump--lower back compression fractures which is pretty standard fare and some come and go knee pain. I got really sick after eating chicken at the cock fight in Bolivia--but that was just not using the ol noggin---oh, and I fried my nervous system trying to prove that I could eat the hottest thing that Don Tobe could cook. We have had some guys pretty bad off from spider bites and even had a guy biten by a vampire bat--but we don't really deal with them, we just call the medavac--actually, a kind of funny one, its pouring rain and some new guys take refuge under a mango tree--well mango trees have some kind of poison on them to ward of insects, so the water running off of them is like shower in poision ivy oil--black palm needles will lay a lick on ya--air sickness is frequent especially when doing low level terrain following--sea sickness not so much but it can happen--usually to busy to get sick in a boat.
Re-unions are funny 'cause old the old guys are hobbling around--we actually went through a major change in about '98 where is was no longer okay or cool to push through injuries. Admiral Richards basically laid down the law that if you were hurt go to the doctor--"We can lose you for a few weeks, but if you ruin something or worsen something we could lose you for months or forever, and that is unacceptable.
