I have never worked for Walmart. I work for Whole Foods Market. And I truly LOVE my job and my company. But, that doesn't mean I don't see the flaws in it. One of the big ones is it's rapid growth. Within the organization...we must remember, we are a BUSINESS first. Without our ability to grow and make money, we would not be able to do the charitable things we do for our community and our teammembers.
For example....we don't throw much of our bread away at the end of the night. What we can't reuse, we give to food banks or soup kitchens. However, I still try not to have too much "loss" as it affects our bottom line and our profits. It's a delicate balancing act....we want to support our community...but we are still a business.
Cheers,
Stacey
