Hell actually~

1. Being a SEAL ? I think would be a series of lows accented with a few highs. At lot of really hard work, miserable conditions, loneliness and danger, but when the time arrived that you could do what you trained to do it would be a major adrenaline surge that you could get addicted to if you are a risk taker personality. And it has to be very rewarding to know you kicked some serious a$$ for your country and made a difference. However, if the politicians and chain of command didn't allow you to do what needed to be done it could make it a very frustrating position to be in.

2. Married to a SEAL? No thanks, I have an American Flag.

My husband is a retired Air Force Officer. It was a good life overall but fate always arranged for him to be TDY whenever or son was sick or anything major happened. Jim never misses the military since retiring about 11 years ago. I am the one who misses the uniforms : ) and I get bored not having to move anymore at times. The military life was hardest on our son I think---some kids adapt better than others. Jim was assigned to the 23rd Air Force (back when they existed) in Special Ops at Hurlburt Field in Forida back during Desert Storm and I was so happy that he was a communications officer and not in the line of fire. His 20 years in service was a walk in the park compared to being a SEAL but it was enough excitement for the two of us.

I really admire all the men and women who serve our country and I thank you for all the sacrifices but it comes at a great personal cost and it is never as romantic as the books and movies portray it. Just my humble opinion.
