It's really something else how people react to the humor between a husband and wife. We went to a Mardi Gras party earlier this year as The Witch Doctor and the Assistant Witch Doctor. And there were people who got in my husband's face because my badge said "Asst." (and *I* was the one who came up with the title assignments). Not one of them had the balls to ask *me* about it or I would have set them straight realllll quick. If you knew what my husband looked like in his costume you'd have understood WHY he was the Chief and I was the Assistant. He looked great.
I think a lot of people get their knickers in a twist and make an offense where none was intended or exists.
Folks need to relax and learn how to be nice to each other.
I like 'Boss'. Use it myself with all kinds of people. Husband, guy at storage unit, fencing instructor. etc.
