Tom retired, but do you recall the comment that he made about not being able to get excitied about much...in civilian life? I am wondering if you felt the same things he was...(I am having random thoughts and putting them down:)))
I am going on the premise that you were so occupied for so long with what happened that you couldn't go back to the apartment...the old fight/flight kicks in even when you aren't involved in the confrontation...It could be a smell/sound (the snow falling)/something you see...It does sound like you were going through PTSD...what did you do, besides moving that helped you move beyond the Fight/flight...or do you still experience that...the thing Tom calls his (paraphase) "lose of the traumatic disorder" seems to apply here...do you still have the flashbacks?
