We tend to think this only happens in "bad" neighborhoods...but the reason I asked this was because there has been a serial rapist in central/western PA for about 2 years. He was using exits off the PA turnpike at random. (they actually caught him last week, thank goodness for DNA). But in those 2 years he has done some serious damage in very affluent neighborhoods. One literally 20 feet from my doctors office. He was waiting for the women when them exited their offices buildings after dark....the one woman had her 4 year old daughter with her...he was armed she did what he told her to do...no questions asked....since I work in the sexual assault business I knew a little bit...from listening to the state police...but this guy really had me creeped out...I would work midnights on the weekends and be totally freaked....One day last Novemeber the police had him on a road 1/2 a mile from where I work..unfortunetly they lost him that day and he went on to rape 3 more women..till last week...Like I said in my post...I think if I would have run into him and he was armed I would probably just give up...especially if like the woman I worked with that had her daughter with her...I would do whatever it took to protect mine...I guess what I was thinking is that if it could happen to these women who were alert, who were doing the right things and still got attacked...then what...
