That still doesn't get around many of the issues I raised in my initial post.
If I were of a caliber to become a female SOF/"SEAL", I could still contribute to the male team on a mission by mission basis. When they had needs of my specific skills hack me to that unit. When they don't I'd be with my own unit.
There are also bound to be the reverse of this situation where there would be an assignment that is more suited to an all female unit (or a mission where it wouldn't matter one way or the other). Or a mission where one of the male SEALs would be hacked to teh female unit. This allows for unit cohesion, diversity and flexibility.
